The studio shoot
working bible.

Creative guardrails

The vibe check

01

Powerful, not dangerous

Mob-family composure without weapons, violence or tired gangster clichés.

02

Playful, not goofy

Straight faces sell the joke. Flowers, cables and surreal details provide the wit.

03

Colourful, not chaotic

Controlled palettes, formal tailoring and deliberate props. No generic rainbow overload.

04

Real people, surreal world

Josh and P are photographed properly. Post builds around them instead of replacing them.

Half-day studio plan

Book a four-hour studio session to allow enough time for setup and lighting changes. Keep the practical set lean and build selected environments in post.

Studio

Available on set

Woven chairs can be rented for Shot 02. A table and crockery are available for Shot 03, and a couch is available for Shot 08.

Siobhan

Bringing

A vintage glass jug for Shot 03, plus brown and green vintage suitcases for Shot 04.

Production

Source only what matters

Seat cushions for Shot 02 and plastic fruit for Shot 03. Prefer cost-effective plastic flowers wherever flowers are needed.

Build in post

Add Shot 01's painted environment and Shot 07's flower arch digitally. Test a chrome treatment on the Shot 04 suitcases, with their original colours as the fallback.

Designed around wardrobe and lighting resets

The efficient shoot flow

Start controlled and formal. Add layers and props. Finish with movement, darkness and haze.

Why this order works

Shots 01–08 share a formal base wardrobe. Fur coats layer over the tuxedos without a full change. Direct-flash and colourful looks follow. Kaleidoscope closes the day because the black set, mirrors, projector and haze create the biggest reset.

Numbered for group feedback

The shot bible

Choose your vibe on each card, add a note, then copy a ready-made message into the group.
